Mobility and transport can be a major issue for people who are frail, isolated or have physical or intellectual disabilities, or who care for others, and Holdsworth Community Transport can provide vital links to the community and a range of essential services. You may also be eligible if you have a temporary injury or illness which means you are unable to drive or access public transport.
Holdsworth has a fleet of accessible cars, people movers, and small to medium size buses to provide affordable, accessible transport to eligible residents of Woollahra LGA. We have experienced drivers, staff and volunteers to ensure a safe and responsive service.
Getting to appointments
If you are no longer driving and/or have trouble accessing public transport, we can arrange to pick you up at home and get you to your medical, dental or allied health appointments. We also have some capacity to get you to social activities or appointments, although medical pharmacy appointments will always take priority. Our “individual transport” service is available from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4:00pm. The individual transport service is available on Saturdays from 9.00am to 4.00pm for social appointments in the Eastern suburbs area only. All transport requires advance booking.
Help to go shopping
We have a regular Shopping Bus for people who have trouble accessing public transport. Our bus picks up clients at their door, takes them to one of the local shopping centres and drops them off at home afterwards. Our staff and volunteers can also help you carry your shopping.
Want to learn to access public transport?
If you are new to the area, recently given up driving, changed the services you need to access or nervous about accessing the public transport system, we can help. Talk to us about our specialist “travel training” service which is designed to help you make the most of our public transport system. You might even meet friends to connect and go exploring!
Holdsworth buses are available for casual hire for community groups when not in use for our programs. Click here to find out more about hiring our buses
