Parties

Rooms at the Holdsworth Centre can be hired for Children’s Parties. Information on terms and conditions can be downloaded HERE. It is very important that you are aware of these when planning a party at Holdsworth as there will be no staff present and you will be responsible for safe use of equipment and for leaving the centre clean and tidy. We are booked out many weeks in advance so please call 9302 3600 to check if your preferred date is available.

The Centre is available for Children's Party Hire on Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday afternoons and some public holidays. To minimise disturbance to local residents, morning parties cannot be booked for on Sundays or public holidays. Also for noise reasons, we ask that there be no amplified music or PA systems in the playground. Amplified music/CD players should be restricted to the Club Room. Hire includes access to the Club Room, kitchen (with stainless steel work benches, microwave, urn, refrigerator/freezer and oven) and toilets (Incl. disability access toilet with baby change table and toilet block with cubicles). The Playground has shade cloths, sand-pit, two areas with fixed slides and climbing equipment. The hire fee includes some tables, chairs and ride-on toys.

You may hire a Jumping Castle or similar play equipment but please make sure you advise the company that they cannot peg the castle and will need weights. There are external power points but to avoid electric cables lying across the Playground you may wish to hire a generator. Please note that for morning parties the Jumping Castle or other play equipment must be removed by 1 pm for the afternoon party set to set up. Animal Farms/Petting Zoos etc are not permitted due to the risk of animal mess that may not be cleaned up properly or in time for the next party. If you are planning any complex activities or equipment hires please to check with us whether it will be acceptable.

Please be aware that this is a Community Centre and as such is used by a number of community groups. Hirers should note that as part of our commitment to the local community, the playground is open to the public but we can provide signage to indicate that it is in use for a private party and they generally respect your space. There may be other activities at the Centre, such as meetings or workshops in the Piano Room, during  your party hire. Everyone’s co-operation is appreciated.

Rooms

Holdsworth has the Club Room (approx 50 sqm) and the Piano Room (80 sqm) for hire for meetings, training or workshops. Hire includes access to the kitchen and toilets.  Call 9302 3600 to discuss times and prices.

Buses

The Centre has buses available for casual hire by community groups when not in use for Centre programs. A driver can be provided if required. To drive our larger buses you will need to have a NSW LR driver’s licence or higher. The buses are accredited by the NSW Ministry of Transport. Hire is subject to the terms and conditions set out in the Centre’s policy.

The buses (ranging from 10 to 24 seats plus driver) are modern vehicles with seatbelts, air-conditioning, power steering, fabric seats, automatic aeroplane doors, sound systems, microphone, First Aid and Spill Kits. There is a distance limit of 200km from the vehicle’s garaging point at Edgecliff.  Some buses are equipped for one or two wheelchairs (with automatic hoist).
