After more than 10 years leading the team at Holdsworth Community, CEO Michael Ryan is retiring and will finish up on 20 October, 2017.
During his time as CEO, Michael has been able to grow the support that Holdsworth has been able to provide to the community. However, most of us will miss Michael for the care and friendliness that he has shown to so many in the community whilst Holdsworth has been under his charge.
Ruth Kestermann, our Executive Officer will be stepping up into the CEO position following Michael’s departure. Ruth joined Holdsworth in 2014 after 14 years working as a project manager, engineer and consultant in the private, government and not-for-profit sector. Ruth has been working alongside Michael for the last three years and is looking forward to building upon Michael’s legacy at Holdsworth.
To celebrate Michael’s retirement and introduce Ruth to those who haven’t met her, we will be hosting a special afternoon tea at Gaden on Wednesday, 18 October from 2pm-4pm. Please come along to say your goodbyes to Michael. Call Judy to RSVP on 9302 3600.
This year we have also said goodbye to Jonathan Rhodes our Assistant Manager of Aged Care who has also retired. You may still see Jonathan lunching at Gaden and he also will be continuing to drive our Dementia Friendly Community project as a volunteer.
Wendy Francis will be joining the Holdsworth team in September as an Aged Care Specialist. Wendy has over 8 years community services management experience, most recently with Avivo in Perth where she worked supporting older people, people with disabilities and people with mental health issues to live in their homes and communities.
And finally, after 13 years’ at Holdsworth, Ian Jankovic has decided to retire as manager of our Community Transport team and will be finishing on Thursday 31 August, which is the same date he started in 2004! We can’t thank Ian enough for all he has done for so many people during his time leading our Community Transport service and wish him a long and happy retirement.
