NEWS!

When next at the centre you will see that we now have double gates on the main entrance and these were installed because of a couple of instances of children getting out unaccompanied. Double gates are a requirement in licensed child care centres and we think it is good practice to have them here. However we all need to remain vigilant about child safety and parents/carers are responsible for their child(ren) when at the centre. When leaving, please make sure the gates are closed behind you and that no stray child follows you out.

Other  activities:
Funky Moves commences on Monday 6 February - This is a fun musical activity for children 2 to 5. A separate fee applies.
Sports Fundamentals starts on 1 February and alternates on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the term.
Kids First Aid Classes this term are scheduled for 12 February and 25 March (Sundays) . This is a popular and helpful session for parents on the medical emergencies most commonly affecting children in the home. Book via 1300 138 133

About our Family Services

Holdsworth provides a range of services to families with young children with the aim of assisting them to deal effectively with the daily demands of parenting. We seek to promote effective parenting skills through building on strengths and social supports. We offer parents the chance to grow in their role and cherish the joys that their child can bring. First-time parents and parents with babies and toddlers find the services particularly useful, but we regularly welcome back many parents with their second and third child and many grandparents who have

been long term friends of the Centre.

We have a dynamic and vibrant Playgroup that operates on weekday mornings during school terms. (See NSW Education website for dates) There are additional groups available that engage parents and children together through a variety of programs, such as exercises and games. Ask our Playgroup Team Leader for information or download our Flyer.

Playgroup Information Booklet

A daily fee applies to Playgroup and there is a reduced rate for Holdsworth members and for concession holders. Playgroup is a subsidised service with salaries, equipment purchase and renewal, activity costs, maintenance/cleaning being met by a combination of your fees and funding from Woollahra Council..

We welcome your feedback about this and other activities at Playgroup, Baby Days and Family Services generally. Read some comments and feedback from people who use our services.

Activities at Playgroup

Parenting Courses run on a sessional basis during the year with the aim of providing parents with management strategies which make parenting easier and more enjoyable. Enquire about upcoming sessions. Flyer.

We have several 'Fun Days' and special events during the year, often to mark things like Families Week and Childrens Week. These and other special events and presentations will be listed on our Events Page.

Other one-off sessions are run on key issues for parents of babies and young children (see Calendar link above). We have Baby Days, tailored for the under ones in the Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. See Baby Days Flyer or ask our Parent Support Worker for details.

Woollara Library brings us Storytime on the first Tuesday of the month. We have Nursery rhymes on other Tuesdays.

Our children’s services are inclusive and welcoming to all young children but we have additional services for families who have a child with disabilities and these can be seen on our Living with disabilities page.

As with all of the Centre’s programs, we offer referral services for support and assistance that may be offered elsewhere or by one of our partner organisations.

Wet Weather

The outdoor PlayGroup may not operate in wet weather but some indoor activities will be offered subject to available space. If wet on Baby Days there may be no indoor activities other than for the under 1s.
