Contributing to the development of a healthy, vibrant and supportive
community through positive participation is a rewarding experience
and one that gives something to both the individual and the community.
The work of Holdsworth Community Centre & Services depends
on and is enriched by people who wish to support their community
by volunteering their time, experience and commitment.
What are the Benefits of Volunteering?
Volunteering has many benefits. It is an ideal way of getting
to know your local community members, helping others, using existing
skills or learning new ones. We highly value the contribution of
our volunteers and provide our volunteers with job descriptions,
training, support, reimbursement for program expenses and work
references.
What Volunteer Positions are Available?
Volunteers work in all program areas in varied roles and capacities. Vacancies available change over time. We are always looking at new ways to involve volunteers in our organisation. Volunteers work on the following programs which cover all days of the week:
- Playgroup
- Discovery Tour
- Elderly Outings
- Home Visiting
- Seniors Movie Matinee
- Music Appreciation
- Discussion Group
- Memory Loss Outings
- Shopping Bus
- Assisted Shopping
- Community Transport
- Adult & Children Disability Recreational Activities
- Creative Art Class
And we welcome volunteers interested in joining the Holdsworth Board.
