Thanks to our donors we have just modified one of our smaller community transport vehicles to make it wheelchair accessible.
Transport is key to enabling access to many of the activities and services that Holdsworth Community provide, which is why Holdsworth has invested $21,000 to modify one of our smaller community transport vehicles to make it wheelchair accessible to allow people to be transported safely and with dignity.
We would like to pass on many thanks to our donors who donated just under $15K to our June Appeal which was used for the vehicle conversion. We were able to find the remaining amount within our budget to move forward with the modifications.
Having a wheelchair accessible car in our fleet ensures that we are able to support people living with mobility issues to access social support programs or to get to important medical appointments.
We are now looking at replacing one of the buses on our fleet to ensure we are able to transport people on our programs safely and comfortably. We are looking at a new Rosa Bus based on feedback from our clients that this is the most suitable transport to meet their needs.
If you would like to support the Holdsworth Community transport renewal project, you can make a donation online by clicking here or calling the centre on 9302 3600. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and will be provided with a tax receipt.
